Today’s blog post features a session that goes down in the books as my most ‘action’ packed to date. It starts with an amazing love story on Baker Beach and as you will see at the bottom, it ends with my clients in a police car. Wanna hear why? Your going to have to read on to find out…

In the meantime, meet the amazing R Family! C&M are celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary TODAY and wanted to document their incredible milestone with family photos. I absolutely adore this family of 5 and as you can see, in addition to being happy and carefree they also happen to border supermodel status…’hey photogenic’. We had all the elements working against us (crazy traffic, extreme wind & bone chilling temperatures) but this crew was up for anything and ALMOST made me forget my fingers were frozen!

Is that THE END? No…it couldn’t be…that would be wayyyyyy too easy and not nearly as exciting as what happened next….

BACK STORY – to make things ‘easier’ we agreed to commute in together in my SUV. We arrived at the beach and headed out toward the bridge. A little dress malfunction may have happened that required C to head back to the car to do some repair work. Session resumed, we shot, got our awesome silhouette and headed back to the car to load up and head out. Can you guess what the problem was? YUP, NO KEYS! Somewhere between beach and happily ever after we lost those bad boys. So now we were deserted on Baker Beach, in the dark (cuz of course we had to chase every last ounce of light) and ALONE. It was going to take about 60-90 minutes to get a replacement set over to us and in the meantime the kiddos were FREEZING in beach attire and nothing to keep warm. After a very fruitless effort to search the beach with nothing more than the light of iPhones we had to call in reserves. Super thankful for our boys in blue who showed up, cranked the heater and let the family pile in to a squad car (as well as put up with my picture taking obnoxiousness) while we waited out that second key set coming from across the bay. It wasn’t exactly the ending that we were planning but I have to admit, when it was all said and done IF it was going to happen there is no other family that would have had more fun with it than this crew. From mom taking ‘selfies’ in the front seat to the kids posing in the back they found a way to turn a negative into a positive and create memories that we can still laugh over for years to come.

Happy Anniversary R Family…
