This post is a little more personal than most, because the subjects are not clients they are friends…my very best friend to be exact! Robin and I have been best friends for about 24 years. We know every ounce of each other’s heart and soul and have been through each and every up and down that life has to offer. And in knowing so much and experiencing so much with one person, it is pretty easy to determine if the person they are going to marry is ‘the one’ for them. I am thrilled to say (and know) that KP indeed is. I have never seen Robin happier and more sure of her path in life and I am thrilled to see where it takes her with her husband to be.

Standing up as her Matron of Honor for her wedding ceremony meant forgoing an opportunity to be my best friend’s wedding photographer. We both agreed that there was really no other role that made sense than standing there right beside her as I always have. So camera will be put to rest (mostly) for wedding day but it didn’t mean we couldn’t get creative with engagement shots at the site of their April nuptials. The GORGEOUS Claremont Hotel www.claremontresort.com  in Oakland. Robin and KP were dressed to the nines in a nod to their 20’s themed affair and we had a blast exploring the property and celebrating the two of them during such an exciting time!

Robin – I love you like a sister and couldn’t be happier for you as you become a wife.

KP- That means you will soon be my brother. Family is everything to me so it’s a heavy title that comes with great responsibility. I trust that if you can handle my ‘sister’ then you can probably handle me (no promises).

Wishing you both every ounce of happily ever after that you deserve and know that I will be here with and for you both every single step of the journey…

For this photographer, newborn sessions are all about relationships and connection. Getting a private, intimate view of what it really looks like to truly ‘see’ your family for the first time. My clients spend a lot of time in our sessions just connecting through site and touch and I absolutely adore the images that something so basic and simple can produce and the emotions that I hope they provoke for many years to come…

I was born and raised here in the Bay Area and still cannot believe how lucky I am to have something as iconic as the Golden Gate Bridge and SF right in my ‘backyard’. I can’t lie, beach sessions (and in particular SF beach sessions) are not always easy…we battle wind, fog and PEOPLE so the beautiful, empty, sweeping landscape images people want are a lot easier said than done. But when it all comes together, you get sessions like this one…

We shot this first image in full sun to really grab the larger than life colors from the bridge and water then spent a little time waiting to get a different perspective of how soft and beautiful that light is as the sun drops and sets over the city. It didn’t hurt that mom and dad to be are also equally stunning!

I love every style of photography I specialize in for a different reason, but maternity is easily one of my favorites! I get so excited when a new ‘bump’ inquiry comes through and absolutely love working with couples to capture these amazing moments before baby arrives and their family grows! It really is a time like no other and it deserves to be highlighted just as much as that sweet baby once he/she arrives. And it really sweetens the deal when a big brother/or sister get to join us for some shots as well!
